President's Letter

2023  Letter From Our President - Gary Coviello

Welcome to The Connecticut Military Corvette Club, Inc.,

The Connecticut Military Corvette Club Inc. is comprised of active, former, and retired military personnel. It is open to all individuals and branches of military service including active, reserve, and National Guard.  Due to a change in our Bylaws last year, membership is also open to people that own or lease a Corvette that are not veterans but have an immediate family relationship to a current, retired, or former (including deceased) member of the United States Armed Forces. This relationship is defined as grandparent, parent, spouse, sibling, or children. Our mission is to support our fellow veterans while at the same time promoting fellowship among our members while enjoying the unique aspects of the Corvette sports car as a hobby and lifestyle.

The organization was founded on January 2012 by three people. Soon membership increased to 10 members. Our membership has fluctuated over the years. We tend to maintain a membership of thirty-forty individuals. Although we are founded in Connecticut our membership is open to military personnel all across the country, overseas, and in US territories.

Our primary mission is to support military personnel in their time of need. We accomplish this by raising money through car shows and various other automotive-related activities. We enjoy using our Corvettes working in tandem with other car clubs and veteran associations and we have worked to develop a strong sponsorship base that contributes funds to the organization and makes fulfilling our mission possible.  The vast majority of all of the monies that we raise goes to Connecticut veteran organizations. We are a proud sponsor of an annual event that provides clothing and personal hygiene items for our veterans at a Connecticut VA Hospital.

On the lighter side, the cub has many social events. We have brunch cruises, holiday parties, and picnics. We participate in parades and car shows. Many of our members make an annual pilgrimage to Corvettes at Carlisle. This event is one of the largest Corvette gatherings in the United States and certainly the largest on the east coast. We caravan down to the site in Carlisle PA. It is held on the last full weekend in August, every year.

Thank you for visiting our website. I hope to meet you soon at a meeting or one of our events.

Sincerely,

Gary S Coviello

President
